Reviews from the last masterclass

When I booked the course I was a little concerned that it might not be relevant to my particular project. In fact it was very practical and helped me clarify some of my thoughts. In particular it helped me get through a “writers block” by suggesting I reach out to local authors. I’ve already actioned a couple of the ideas that Paul raised. I’m very happy with the course overall.

The course met all my expectations. I wanted to be able to apply a methodology to my approach to project work, rather than the somewhat scattergun approach I've used in the past, and Paul showed me how to do that. It was well-paced and interesting, nd held my attention throughout.

I found this course very helpful to get me started on a project for my ARPS. I have had many ideas for this over several years but never got any of them off the ground. I am now using your method to look at my ideas to get a clearer idea of what I actually want to do how feasible these ideas are. I am open to these ideas evolving over time as I reflect on them. It was interesting listening to others on the course and I felt that much of what they said was applicable to myself. I found your talk very informative and the slides easy to understand and take in.

What is the Workshop About?

“Single, striking images may capture fleeting moments of beauty, but a sequence of photographs tells a story, delivers a message, or explores a theme more deeply.”

Photography is an art form that allows us to freeze moments in time, but the true power of photography lies in its ability to tell a story through a series of images. This course is designed to help photographers like you move beyond single images and develop the skills needed to create cohesive, compelling photographic projects.

The masterclass centers on the Creative Process, which is the foundation of successful project photography. I will teach you how the process works and how to use it to easily turn your original ideas into successful projects.

Course Foundation and Development

Throughout my career as a photographer, I've learned through a combination of trial and error and formal education. My experiences have resulted in a structured approach to photographic projects that I have honed over the years, including a 9-month period teaching college students the creative process and project development. This course embodies the methodologies and widely accepted structured techniques that have proven successful in my own work and for my students.

What You'll Achieve

During the course, you'll:

  • Learn the proven principles behind successful project photography

  • Gain online access to all teaching materials and course videos

  • Be better equipped to undertake your own projects

The course is designed to help you practice and perfect these techniques, enhancing your ability to create compelling photographic narratives.

What You Need to Bring

All you need is an open mind and a willingness to learn. This is not a technical course; it focuses on photography's creative and conceptual aspects, making it equally beneficial for photographers at all levels. If you already have a fixed idea for a project, consider setting it aside to explore new possibilities during the course.
