About the event

The workshop begins at 09:00, 2 hours before the public are admitted to the castle, so we get uninterrupted access to the garden and greenhouses. Much of the collection is under poly tunnels which will preotect us if the weather is wet.

As well as the World Garden, the river Darent flows through the grounds giving opportunities for landscape and wildlife photography.

Lullingstone Castle

Lullingstone Castle is a historic manor house in the Darent Valley, Kent, with roots stretching back to the medieval period. The present house was largely built in the 15th and 16th centuries and became the long-standing home of the Hart Dyke family, who have lived there for generations.

The estate has welcomed notable visitors over the centuries, including King Henry VIII, and retains many Tudor architectural features. Its historic walled garden, once used for traditional kitchen gardening, is now home to the internationally recognised World Garden.
